OmieBox uses two types of insulation in order to store hot & cold food together. At the heart of the design is a powerful vacuum insulated thermos. It’s made of two walls of stainless steel with the air sucked out in between so heat can’t escape. It can keep food warm for up to 6 hours, perfect for hot lunch. Food is kept cool through OmieBox’s double walled, air insulated tray. Air is an excellent insulator (think styrofoam or double pane windows - both use air insulation).
OmieBox is carefully designed so it’s easy, even for our youngest users. One key design feature is the oversized handle - it's easy to grab, perfect for young children who are still developing fine motor skills. Lids open and close easily, so your little ones can be independent at school. You never need to worry about lunches coming home uneaten because your little one couldn’t open the box.
OmieBox is a BPA-free, phthalate free and complies with all FDA and CPSIA requirements. 18/8 food grade stainless steel.

Please note: ‘Leakproof’ bento lunch boxes are leakproof for wet foods like thick yoghurts and dips only. Runny and watery liquids should be packed separately in a reusable pouch.

Beautiful lunchboxes with nice deep compartments. Fits nicely in school bags without being oversized like some bento boxes can be.
Absolutely love this lunch box. It is perfect for my son's daycare lunches and the added bonus of a warm lunch on cold Southland days or a sandwich by taking the thermos out. 10/10 recommended.
I have a 9 year old and 5 year old. We have been using planet boxes for the past 4 years and love them but always needed to send a separate thermos for hit food so I thought this might solve that problem. I sent chicken curry to school with my five year old who struggled to twist the lid back on (we had practiced a couple of times at home) and the curry ended up leaking all over the rest of his food. So just consider the age/fine motor skills of your bubbas when sending them off into the big wide world! 9 year old said he liked the lunchbox handle and the way the lid stays open while eating (planet boxes either have to be shut or wide open). However he said his sandwich fell apart so consider the way food is packed. I pack his sandwiches flat in a planet box but because omie box is deeper there is more room to move around so consider packing it more tightly.
Overall, sad that the thermos is hard to close for little ones as he's the one that loves hot food. So we will go back to planet boxes with additional thermos for now. But I think they're still cool and we will find opportunities to use them or just keep practicing and maybe try again when bub is a bit older.
